As you are likely aware, in September, President Biden announced his Action Plan concerning COVID-19. The plan he announced is far reaching and includes several items and policies. One policy in particular mandates all employers with 100 or more employees to require employees to be either fully vaccinated or to require all unvaccinated employees to be tested weekly for COVID-19 and receive a negative result before reporting to work.
This is a very controversial topic and is likely to be challenged in the court system. However, it is difficult to determine what that timing will be and what the final outcome will look like. Today, it has been announced that as of January 4, 2022, we will be required to comply with the mandate. This does not leave a great deal of time to complete the necessary steps to reach compliance.
In preparation, we need to have accurate data and I would appreciate your help as we take steps to comply. Health and Safety, with the help of supervisors and management, will begin collecting data on vaccination status of all employees. All employees will be asked to provide their current vaccination status. Those that have been vaccinated will be asked to provide proof to health and safety if they have not already.
I am sure that there are mixed feelings regarding this latest mandate. However, with cooperation, we will be able to work through the requirements together and continue to provide quality products to our customers.
